In 2004, the SQA Board created the following Mission and Vision statements during a two-day Strategic Planning meeting. Each year the board reviews and reconfirms the Mission and Vision of SQA. In 2019, the promotion of ethics was added to the mission statement.

Mission Statement: 
Promote and advance the ethics, principles, and knowledge of quality assurance essential to human, animal, and environmental health.

Vision Statement:
A world with safe and effective biologics, chemicals, drugs, and medical devices for humans, animals, and the environment.
