Committees

Committee Descriptions

SQA members are eligible to participate in the following Committees.

 

Appointed Committees

 
Board of Publications

The Board of Publications (BoP) determines the editorial policy of all publications of the Society and is responsible for the quarterly newsletter, Quality Matters and bibliography of references. BoP also oversees the SQA website and advises the Board of Directors on advertising policy. It is our goal to serve as a resource to SQA members who wish to improve their skills in technical and business writing.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee provides advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors in the development and maintenance of SQA's financial policies and procedures and provides oversight and management of the Society’s financial practices.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee identifies qualified candidates and presents a slate for the election of SQA Officers, Board Members and Elected Committee Members.

Regional Chapters' Presidents Committee

The Regional Chapters' Presidents Committee (RCPC) comprises the President of each SQA regional chapter and is chaired by the SQA Vice-President. The RCPC provides a conduit for chapter/international information to be disseminated to SQA members.

Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws Committee

The Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws Committee (AIBC) is responsible for considering changes to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws recommended by members of SQA and making recommendations regarding changes to the Board of Directors.

Education Committee

The Education Committee (EdCom) identifies the professional development needs of the Society membership and coordinates training and professional enhancement opportunities through workshops, lectures, symposia and online presentations.

Ethics and Membership Credentials Committee

The Ethics and Membership Credentials Committee (EMCC) evaluates the qualifications of candidates applying for active SQA membership and investigates charges of questionable or unethical behavior in the Society.

     

Volunteer Committees

 
Corporate Relations Committee

The Corporate Relations Committee is responsible for developing and monitoring a partnership with our corporate supporters and for projecting and maintaining a positive image of the Society and the profession.

Historical Committee

The Historical Committee's mission is to provide oversight of SQA's historical documents and dissemination of historical information. Among other things, the HC maintains the Society's photographic archive.

International Relations Committee

The International Relations Committee brings SQA members from around the globe together to promote the highest standards of scientific research around the globe, raise cultural awareness in the Society, support the development of affiliations with other professional QA organizations outside of the U.S, and enhance education and networking opportunities on a global platform.

Liaison Committee

The mission of the Liaison Committee is to establish a networking forum comprised of quality assurance professionals who will serve as conduits between SQA and other organizations to facilitate collaboration and communication that promotes an exchange of information and advocates enrichment of professionals in the quality regulated industry.

Membership Retention and Development Committee

The Membership Retention and Development Committee (MR&DC) is responsible for developing and maintaining tangible and intangible benefits for members, and for developing a marketing strategy to make non-members aware of the benefits of SQA membership.

Mentoring Program Committee

The Mentoring Program Committee (MPC) oversees a program in which SQA member mentees are matched with mentors by skill level and area of expertise. The program also matches peer parters with each other for the purpose of mutual professional growth.

Program Committee

The Program Committee is responsible for planning and organizing the SQA Annual Meeting.

Regulatory Forum Council The Regulatory Forum Council (RFC) provides oversight and guidance to the Regulatory Forum, a Coordinating Forum for addressing regulatory issues on behalf of SQA and for facilitating dissemination of regulatory information to SQA members.
