Computer Validation Initiative Committee (CVIC)

Vision:

The Computer Validation Initiative Committee (CVIC) will focus on the development, promotion and dissemination of information, ideas, and standards surrounding the global regulatory requirements of computer system development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
 

History of the Committee:

  • Originated at SQA meeting 1995 - asked for volunteers to participate
  • First Meeting July 11, 1996
  • First Chair (1996-1997) - Mary Ann McKendry
  • Past Chair (1997-2000) - Richie Siconolfi
  • Past Chair (2000-2003) - Sharon McKilligan
  • Past Chair (2003-2006) - Patricia Miller
  • Current Chair - Michael Regehr

Mission:

  1. Identify issues submitted by SQA members and develop researched responses, and publish results or post the information on our web page.
  2. Stay informed and maintain awareness of current industry, government, academia, and technical trends.
  3. Develop computer validation training that is current, up to update, and relevant for the Quality Assurance Professional.
  4. Interact and influence regulatory guidances, standards and rules to reflect good practices in computer validation.
  5. Communicate to the SQA Membership about CVIC activities through articles, presentations, questions and answer sessions, and workshops.
  6. Proactively partner with other SQA committees.
  7. Keep information on the web page current and develop an archive of previously published information.
