Biotechnology Specialty Section

At the SQA Annual Meeting in Reno, NV:

Attend our ½ day Preconference Training Session at the SQA Annual Meeting. Session 8: Biotechnology for Rookies. Topics include: terminology, methodology for creating transgenic organisms and techniques used to assess the transgenic organism and the protein(s) produced.
Attend our Session on Wednesday, April 28th at the SQA Annual Meeting. Session AA: Biopharmaceuticals, Topics relating to the production and regulation of biopharmaceuticals will be discussed.

The Biotechnology Specialty Section is a newly forming specialty section whose mission is to:

Serve as a resource for SQA members in the interpretation of regulations (e.g., GLP, GMP, GCP) and their application to studies of products created through biotechnology (e.g., therapeutic proteins, transgenic crops, etc.).
Provide a forum for monitoring developments related to biotechnology in the regulatory area and disseminating the information to the SQA membership.
Develop cooperative relationships with applicable regulatory agencies.
Provide education on topics related to biotechnology.
