SQA offered Annual Meeting attendees the option to purchase tickets for
one or more special events held during the Conference.
Music Fair
SQA hosted the 2007 Music Fair on Tuesday, 1 May 2007, 5:30
- 7:00 p.m.
Attendees participated
in the Music Fair as a way to meet QA professionals from around
the world and to increase their knowledge about the SQA Committees,
Specialty Sections
and Regional Chapters. Attendees had the opportunity to participate
in
games and
activities
and win
SQA prizes.
Post-Conference Events - Thursday, 3 May 2007 (optional)
The Annual Conference ended at 3:00 p.m., Thursday,
3 May 2007. Attendees spent Thursday afternoon exploring Austin
or participated in the
Facility
Tour. The Program Committee planned a spectacular gala dinner
event at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum for Thursday
evening.

The Facility Tour included visits to the Clinical and Anatomical Laboratory
Section, Biomedical Chimpanzee Section, viewing both indoor and outdoor
housing and clinic areas, Rhesus Section and our Large Animal Section
including the clinic and surgery suites where GLP studies are performed.
The
Center shared information on how an academic facility performs GLP
studies using specialized animal models. The hosts of the tour
included faculty members who are pathologists, veterinarians, behaviorists,
and research scientists who also serve as Study Directors. Our QAU and
members of the GLP laboratory and animal care team were available
during the tour to answer any questions. Transportation was provided
between the museum and the Hilton Austin, Conference HQ hotel.
Local Austin Activities
A list of local activities was provided at the Conference
for those who wanted to explore Austin on Thursday afternoon.
Activities
included visiting local botanical gardens, shopping,
duck tours, golfing and much more. These activities did not require
pre-registration
and many were within walking distance.
Gala Dinner at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum

An evening of dining and live entertainment at the Bob Bullock
Texas State History Museum. The Museum in downtown Austin tells
the "Story of Texas" with interactive exhibits and a multimedia
special effects show, "The Star of Destiny," in the Texas Spirit
Theater. Attendees had access to three floors of exhibits
with three themes as big
as Texas history: Land, Identity and Opportunity. The exhibits at The
Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum surround visitors with the sights,
sounds and smells of Texas history. For everyone in Texas and the Texan
in everyone,
the Museum serves as a tribute to Texas' heritage and a home for "The
Story of Texas".
Attendees enjoyed a southwestern style fajita feast
dinner with live local
music in the Museum's expansive lobby, which features a dramatic,
four-story rotunda and a stunning terrazzo floor that captures
a campfire scene with enduring themes from Texas' past. After
dinner, attendees
had the opportunity to leisurely explore the museum
exhibits. Transportation was provided between the museum and
the Hilton Austin, Conference HQ hotel.
