Annual Meeting

The Society of Quality Assurance Annual Meeting and Quality College usually are held in April or late March. Annual Meetings include two days of Quality College courses on Sunday and Monday, followed by three days of plenary and concurrent meeting sessions, Tuesday through Thursday, and one day of Quality College courses on Friday. Meetings are open to members and non-members, but members receive reduced registration rates. The SQA Annual Meeting regularly features speakers from regulatory agencies. For information on the next SQA Annual Meeting, please see the Events & Education menu at left.

Call for Abstracts

A call is issued, usually in September, for abstracts on full sessions, individual session topics and posters. The Program Committee considers all regulatory QA topics for presentation: manufacturing (GMPs), preclinical (GLPs) and clinical (GCPs). Other areas of interest may include animal health, bioanalysis, biotechnology, computer validation, medical devices, pharmacovigilence, scientific archiving, university issues and much more. The abstracts are reviewed and selected for presentation based on timeliness of topic and applicability to the meeting attendees. If you are not on the SQA e-mail distribution list but would like to receive notices such as the call for abstracts, please update your account on this website to opt in for e-mail communications, or create an account if you do not have one.

Presentation Type

Abstracts usually are accepted for the following presentation types:

  • Poster (8' w x 4' h);
  • 30 minute Podium Presentation (25 minute presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A and transition);
  • 90 minute Session (entire session devoted to a single topic with one or more presenters);
  • 90 minute Panel Discussion (entire session devoted to a single topic, discussion with 4-5 experts); and
  • 60 or 90 minute Roundtable Session (entire session devoted to a single topic with several presenters and breakout discussions in small groups).

Suggested Hot Topics for Conference Presentations

The SQA Program Committee and Specialty Sections have developed a list of suggested "current issues" and "hot topics" for conference presentations.  The list is updated and published each year along with the call for abstracts.  Abstract authors are encouraged to consider these topics when developing an abstract.

Registration

Registration for the Annual Meeting usually opens in November or December, after abstracts have been reviewed and the program is set. Discounts are made available for SQA members, and early registration rates are offered to all registrants.  Special hotel room rates are negotiated and meeting attendees are encouraged to make reservations at the designated hotels, mentioning that they are part of the meeting.
