27 March - 1 April 2011 — San Antonio, TX, USA

The 27th SQA Annual Meeting will include two days of Quality College courses on Sunday and Monday, followed by three days of plenary and concurrent meeting sessions, Tuesday through Thursday, and one day of Quality College courses on Friday. Meetings are open to members and non-members, but members receive reduced registration rates.


Call for Abstracts

The Program Committee will consider all regulatory QA topics for presentation: manufacturing (GMPs), preclinical (GLPs) and clinical (GCPs). Other areas of interest may include animal health, bioanalysis, biotechnology, computer validation, medical devices, pharmacovigilence, scientific archiving, university issues and much more. The abstracts will be reviewed and selected for presentation based on timeliness of topic and applicability to the meeting attendees.

A call for abstracts will be distributed in July 2010.

Abstract Guidelines

Presentation Type

Abstracts will be accepted for the following presentation types:

  • Poster (8' w x 4' h);
  • 30 minute Podium Presentation (25 minute presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A and transition);
  • 90 minute Session (entire session devoted to a single topic with one or more presenters);
  • 90 minute Panel Discussion (entire session devoted to a single topic, discussion with 4-5 experts); and
  • 60 or 90 minute Roundtable Session (entire session devoted to a single topic with several presenters and breakout discussions in small groups).

     

Required Information

Prior to submitting an abstract, please make sure that you have the following information available:

  • Contact information for all presenting authors;
  • Biographies for all presenting authors, experts and moderators (under 150 words each);
  • Abstract text in paragraph format (under 500 words);
  • Content level (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced); and
  • Abstract keywords.



Suggested Hot Topics for Conference Presentations

The SQA Program Committee and Specialty Sections have developed a list of suggested "current issues" and "hot topics" for conference presentations.  Abstract authors are encouraged to consider these topics when developing an abstract.

Abstract Schedule

  • Abstracts accepted - until 30 September 2010
  • Abstracts reviewed - 4-15 October 2010
  • Abstracts assigned to sessions - 18-29 October 2010
  • Acceptances sent to authors - by 15 November 2010
  • Registration opens - November 2010
  • Meeting program published - 15 December 2010


Regulatory Speaker Guidelines

The following instructions should be followed if your abstract includes a government agency representative as a presenter.

  •  If the abstract submitter requests that SQA pay the travel expenses of the regulatory speaker, then the abstract must clearly indicate this request and the inclusion of the regulator must be approved in advance by the Program Committee and the established regulatory invitation process must be followed – see SOP GA-02-01.xx.
  •  If the regulator does not require fee waiver or travel reimbursement, then the abstractor submitter should indicate on the abstract that the speaker is a regulator but does not require fee waiver or reimbursement.  
  •  Invited regulatory speakers for regulatory updates sessions/symposia may have their fees waived and travel reimbursed, but only if the process is followed in accordance with SOP GA-02-01.xx.

Registration

Annual Meeting and Quality College registration will be available in November 2010. All presenting authors of abstracts accepted for presentation will be required to register for the Conference and pay the appropriate fees, in accordance with the published fee schedule.
